Week in my life: Candle-making, a starry night, and re-learning how to ride a bike ♡
...and eating lots of delicious food!
Monday, June 23rd
Welcome to one of the hottest weeks in New York City!
I had a busy day at work, but ended my day by walking in Cadman Park Plaza. I saw my first fireflies of the summer, which made my night.

Tuesday, June 24th
Today was a day filled with good food, and I was extremely thankful. A meter-long mille-feuille? Yes, please!

Wednesday, June 25th
Another extremely hot day with a welcome ice cream. I tried Seed and Mill’s halva sundae today, and it was incredible!

I also walked to the West Village today for an event I signed up for, and really enjoyed the window decorations along Hudson Street.

I signed up for a candle-making event with Planet Sis at Sullaluna, a new Italian bistro in the West Village. The space was beautiful, and as someone obsessed with candles, I had the best time even though it was one of the hottest days in the city.

Thursday, June 26th
This was a typical, busy day for me! Highlights were enjoying jasmine tea-flavored pocky sticks I got in Beijing last month and some barbecue with a view!

Friday, June 27th
Today was spent celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday! We enjoyed celebrating at Osteria Carlina, and then a walk on the pier afterwards.

Saturday, June 28th
I would describe today as a spontaneous day of trying viral foods in New York City, and walking it off the best we could!

We tried Apollo Bagels, the La Mercerie cookie, Bunny and Bro coffee, and Santo Taco. My favorite of all these was Apollo Bagels. I surprisingly loved their strawberry jam and butter on a sesame bagel. We also walked from the Financial District to Soho, and then made our way to Midtown before heading the Bronx!
In the Bronx, we had dinner on Arthur Avenue at Zero Otto Nove. I absolutely loved their rendition of a squid ink pasta here. We also got some cannolis and zeppole as dessert.

After that, we went to the New York Botanical Garden to enjoy their Van Gogh exhibit and watch their drone show featuring his works in the sky. This was a short-lived experience, but magical nonetheless.

Last year, I made it my mission to learn how to ride a bike and I was able to do it! However, I still don’t feel confident in my abilities, so today, I went for a beginner’s practice session with Bike NYC at McCarren Park. It was a bit tough getting back into biking after a year, but I’m proud I pedaled a bit!
It’s been a long weekend, but a happy weekend. I just got back from my yoga class and am ready to rest for the rest of the evening.
xo that Brooklyn girl.
I aim to keep most of my content free, but if you enjoyed this post, consider buying me a coffee. I’m so glad you’re here on my page!
HodDAMN you eat some good looking food!
I love the food pictures and just all the pictures in general. But the food looks so delicious. I had no idea that New York was so photogenic.
